Are you headed to a destination of natural beauty for spring break? Grab your camera and enter the Quinney College of Natural Resources’ 2014 Photo Contest.
All Utah State University students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in the annual contest and exhibition. Entries will be displayed March 22-26 in the International Lounge of the Taggart Student Center during Natural Resources Week.
“We encourage everyone to participate and help us celebrate Natural Resources Week at USU,” says Cameron Lawrence, Quinney College of Natural Resources senator. “The theme of this year’s NR week is ‘Go WILD, It’s All Around You’ and this is a great opportunity for everyone on campus to share the beauty of our region.”
Photos may be submitted in the following three categories: 1) Wildlife; 2) Natural Scenery; and 3) People in Nature. There is no cost to enter and participants can enter one photo in any or all of the categories.
Submissions should be unmatted and unframed 8” x 10” photo prints. Entrants should bring their submissions to the CNR Academic Service Center, Room 120, in the Natural Resources building. At the center, participants will receive entry forms that should be completed for each submission.
The deadline for submissions is Friday, March 21, at 4 p.m.
First, second and third place prizes will be awarded in each of the three categories. Fifty percent of each photo’s score is based on votes cast by visitors to the March 22-26 photo exhibit and 50 percent on a score awarded by a panel of judges.
Following the contest, participants can retrieve their entries Thursday, March 27, beginning at 9 a.m. at the CNR Academic Service Center, NR 120.
