Friday, Dec. 07, 2012

Danny Berger

Utah State men’s basketball student-athlete Danny Berger’s condition was upgraded Thursday, Dec. 6, from critical to fair, and he was moved out of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) and into CVU (Cardiovascular Unit) at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah.

Berger, a junior forward from Medford, Ore., had a serious medical situation during practice Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 4, and was tended to on the court by USU Assistant Athletic Trainer Mike Williams. CPR was performed and the AED (automated external defibrillator) was used on him until ambulance personnel arrived. Medical tests and evaluations on Berger are ongoing and more information will be released when available.

Utah State men’s basketball is scheduled to return to action Saturday, Dec. 8, when it hosts Western Oregon in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum at 7 p.m.
